Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

ok....i've been using the same recipe for some time now for my cutout cookies. today i made 2 batches. the first batch i rolled cut and baked and they came out perfect. the second batch, made right after the first batch, the cookies spread somewhat.....i'm a stickler for perfection and i'm real upset about this. does anyone know what i did wrong? or what would make this happen? thanks

One thing you can do when the weather is warm is to substitute some shortening for the butter...it will keep the cookies from spreading
thanks karen! great idea
