Castle cake--I used the Wilton Romantic Castle. That was when she was going to be 8, so I had her & my older son helping cut out & press into a foam former (or whatever it's called) all the flowers. I did do a few things different than the instuctions. Look me up if it's what she decides she wants. I will tell you..WATCH OUT FOR THE CANDLES! I let my sister put the candles on the cake NOT THINKING about the plastic. Needless to say, I can't use that set for anyone else (outside the family) there are black charred spots on the plastic :( .
What you can do with the blackened turrets is cover them with matching fondant Tara. The reason I thought of this is because I just did the Medieval Cake a few weeks ago and all nine turrets had to be covered with fondant. At least your kit would still be usable. Just and idea.
