Bridal Shower Cupcakes
Hello. My Daughter is getting Married in the fall.I am doing cupcakes for the bridal shower. The colors are orange and yellow. I need some ideas... She does'nt like fruit in her cakes.DARN that would taste so good...Thank You, Patty In Boston

Pumpkin cupcakes/cake would be fantastic in the fall. I have a recipe for a fabulous chocolate chip pumpkin cake. I usually put a caramel icing on it. For the cupcakes you could make fall leaves out of fondant to put on each cupcake. If you'd like the recipe I would be happy to post it.

This sounds yummy. May I have the recipe?
I think I would attempt to place the caramel icing inside the cupcakes itself, fill them up inside and then do what you suggest.
Gosh, I can just see it and can't wait to taste it too.

When I think of orange and yellow I automaticly think of my orange dreamsicle cake and my lemon poppyseed... however.. if she does not like fruit... that won't work! In the fall I agree the pumpkin is great. I have a pumpkin chocolate chip pecan recipe but it is more of a bread than a cake... you could do a french vanilla it is kind of yellowish. If you use whole eggs in it it gives it more yellow. OR... you could make your fav cake and color your buttercream... or do white buttercream and make the flowers for your color.

I have changed my mind on the cupcakes...I am going to do 10 cakes ,8 inch ones.. I have to do center pieces So I was thinking of doing the cakes as a center piece also. Any suggestions? I was thinking of putting flowers in the center of the cakes...

Does her Bridal shower have to be the colors of her wedding? If the shower is in the fall you could do something in the theme of "Fall"ing in love!! with yellow and orange gumpaste hearts stuck in the top of Buttercream iced cupcakes. Or white glittery hearts stuck in the top of Yellow and orange iced cupcakes. Could be cute on a tower!

I did an engagement cake for our daughter & son in law (it's posted in my profile) I used pictures from various trips that they had taken together all the way to their engagement trip. I imported them into my photo program, made them all sepia tone, put them together in a strip and printed it onto photo paper then took it to our grocery store bakery and had them make edible images out of the two strips. Then I wrapped the strips around the base of the cake and put a ribbon for the border. They loved it. You could do that really easy on each cake that you do. This must be a very large shower if you are doing 10 eight inch cakes. I am going to do another one this week for our son's engagement.
