Baby Shower : The Stork Is On It's Way!

I had fun with this one. Two employees at work their wives are having a baby in the near future so the department had a surprise baby shower for them and I was asked to do a cake with a stork theme. I made the stork out of wood and attached small plastic babies on it wrapped on the storks wings in a blanket and two hanging from the storks beak in a diaper. I call the stork the "baby dive bomber". (no babies were hurt in the making of this cake!)

The cake was two cakes, one chocolate and one yellow. I used mixes but added bananas and pineapple to the yellow one for a very moist and delicious twist. I do not like a dry cake.

I used whipped frosting and did the sides of the cake with white to resemble clouds and then the top of cake blue for the sky. I positioned the stork as if flying like an airplane and did a banner in writing as if it was pulling the banner across the sky.

It was a hit at work and quite fun to do.
