lol Teneisha, I rather be a baby and keep learning than consider me a know it all. I think that when someone thinks they know it all they loose in learning new things.. I rather learn everyday!!

Edna.... when I was coaching softball I used to share this quote with the girls all the time when they thought they knew it all..... "When you're green you're growing.... When you're ripe you'll rot" The look on their faces when they just "already knew it all" and I'd tell them that.... they'd think for a minute then ask questions on how to do whatever task they were working on. It fits the cake decorating world too... there is ALWAYS more to learn... As long as we have you here... it's all good!!!!

P.S. I just spoke to the woman in charge of this and they are looking for all kinds of bakers/cake decorators, not just people who work in a shop, so anyone can audition.
I know what you mean Edna...I'm learning so much everyday and I'm enjoying the process...especially being self taught...and you guys here are such an inspiration...God bless Google (that's how I found this great site!)..:)

I just received a little bit more information about this:

They are going to be shooting it in the NY/NJ area in September of this year for 4-5 weeks. The contestants will all be put up in a hotel for the duration of the show. They are looking for all sorts of candidates, classically trained to self-taught bakers and will narrow the contestants down to the top 15 and then will want to meet them at their offices. They will then select the top 10 who will be featured on the show.
It would be a kick in the pants and such a great learning opportunity... I am back to work at the school at that time and doubt that they would understand me saying I was leaving for a few weeks for cake stuff.... probably not a good idea for me... someone here go for it!!!
Lord knows even though i am a beginner, i truely would love to do this, So Congradulations to who ever has the oppertunaty to apply , I know you will do Great , I have seen all your Pics, BTW, Is anyone here applying?, I truely hope so
Wow, 5 to 4 weeks!..I dont have 5 to 4 weeks to dissapear from my life to play..lol

Soooo does this tell us it REALLY takes 4 or 5 weeks to shoot an 8 hour challenge show???? Hmmmmmm
I got the impression that the 4-5 week period was just to determine who the 10 challengers would be.
