As a new cake decorator, I have been wanting to use fondant but what I would like to know is what can I use to smooth the fondant if I don't have a professional tool? Thanks.

Hi Theresa ~ Thank you for hosting this live demonstration for us!  It was very educational.  In the future, it would be nice if people would stick to the topic at hand during the live chat.  We would be able to get more questions answered.  I'm sure you understand what I am trying to say.  Commercials do get in the way and you have already addressed that.  Thank you again!  ~ D

Ness,

The first thing that I learned was it is very important to invest into the right tools for doing the right job.  You will save a lot of time and money and end up with a much higher probability of a superior product.  For example, fondant paddles are about $6 retail at local hobby store or wal-mart.  I love the Wilton ones with the round ends and square ends.  They are my favorite.  Please lett me know if I can help in any way in the future.

Thanks, Jay
