Any tips on removing small dents from cake pans?

Hi,

Lately I've found some pans (a 12" Wilton heart, a 6" Mirro star) with very small indentations. I had bought a 12" square Magic Line pan discounted because of a dented side last year. I used a hammer with a cloth to keep from scratching, and also my Dad's vise on his workbench, to straighten the 12" square pan. I think I'm on the right track here but I'm just curious if anyone else has found bargain pans and straightened dents out of them, and what methods you used and how they worked. Thanks!

Yeah, throw them out or just don't use them if you are selling your cakes.

I have some dents but they are not noticeable whatsoever when I make my cakes.  I guess I'm just lucky but I am not EVER going to SELL my cakes either!  I can always cover up a mistake and no one knows the wiser.  Let me tell you this, I make mistakes and I'm the only one who sees it.

Have fun and enjoy baking your cakes.
