Does anyone know if the roller bar on the cricut machine have the rubber paper guides removed when used for cake decorating? If not I can't figure out how to make it work. Does anyone know? Can modeling chocolate, gum paste and fondant all be used?

The Two Sweet Sisters said that they used modeling chocolate some too...at their demo on Saturday...they only use Linda McClure's gumpaste though...it stays flexible for putting it on the cake....most other gumpaste would not. They also said that they put sheets of it in the freezer on the mats inside of plastic zip bags for future use. And they say that you MUST scrub the sticky off of the mat and grease it well with solid shortening before you use the mat. The recommend pushing the rollers aside if you want to keep the warranty on the machine. I didn't think I would use one but after the demo I'm having second thoughts...love the idea of using it for monograms...I hate those
I too have been looking for a WRITTERN copy of her gum paste recipe, so I don't have to keep watching those dumb

You can use any electronic cutter for cake decorating. They key is the blade holder. We sell the Silhouette Cameo with a modified blade holder that works the best for cutting gum paste or icing sheets. The rubber O rings can be moved to the side. If you only cut icing sheets this is not necessary, but if you are cutting gum paste then the rubber o rings need to be moved or cut off.
Fondant is much too soft for this technique. The recipe that I developed for this technique works the best. You can find several videos on youtube that I have done to help teach this method.

I bought my wife a cameo and the cutter set a few months back and we haven't been able to get it to cut gum paste (Linda's recipe from the DVD). Whenever we try to cut, it just picks up the paste and chews it up.
Any suggestions as to what we're doing wrong?

i dont like mine at all !!
I know it has to be very thin ! almost like paper ! and you need a very sm, amount of Crisco , but put it on than wipe it with paper towel ! , I have one also not using it at all , ; (( not my fav thing , the time it takes to set it up and cut , you can have many pc's from a mold done ! I used mine once in the last 3 yr's !
