Contest Categories

I have had several people suggest we have an amateurs and professionals category for the contests.

I completely agree!

So, I want to explain myself so everyone knows where things stand. Right now, all the pictures are displayed together. In order to have separate categories, I would need a different system. Every time we have a contest, I have to explain a hundred times how to vote and people still use the rating stars and leave comments. Leaving comments is fine, but I can't change the rules midway and start counting the comments as votes.

We have to design a custom program to handle the contests. It would make the voting process easier to do and understand. There is also confusion about how to enter the contest every month.

So, yes, we will eventually have a custom program to do this, but right now I'm asking for your patience until that time. Custom programming is expensive and right now I'm not making any money off of this site. I'm covering my costs. I'm not like other big websites rolling in the dough.

Believe me, my cakes don't stand a chance next to some of the amazing cakes that are submitted. I know more people will feel comfortable entering the contest when we do have an amateurs category.
