If i understand correctly, you are trying to make the candy melts black?

What type of color are you using? You can try Americolor black.

im doing the candy melts in black and also the buttercream if possiable as its a chocolate frosting. im using wilton gel colors as its all the stores here carry.
It is really hard to get a true black. If you are using buttercream, make it a very dark chocolate brown 1st, then add your black wilton food colouring.  You will get it dark, but a true dark black.  But against any other colour, trust me, it WILL look black.  As far as the candy melts, thats a puzzel.  I have never tried to make brown become black.  Try googling that one, maybe some advice will come up that way.

thank you, that is very doable and to be safe i also bought the new wilton black spray food coloring so will test that on top of it to be safe
