Well, I haven't let anyone take my pic for years. I guess I should get past the wrinkles and just do it. In all honesty, Gail, I thought that from your pic, you must have been in your early 30s, so when you said 60s, I just couldn't believe how good you looked at 60.

Jeanne if you have cookie cutters with sports themes you could do a top with different sports and do the cake with different sports on it.depending really on what the child is interested in at that age its hard to know sometimes

Welcome Denise
Hope u enjoy the friendship & info on this site. I have.
Want to ask? You are obviously talking about a soccer pitch? You could
1. use wire, form the shape and cover it in fondant
2. But some sort of candy, ie: liquorice to form the shape
That is a couple of ideas. You could make a football/soccer ball from rice crispie treats, & cover with brown fondant/gumpaste. I made a cake where the groom was a real footballer, and I put a soccer ball between his legs, but iwas a candle for a child's b-day cake. Just snipped off the wick, and turned it upside down. Don't know your skill level, but you sure could try making a little boy from fondant & gumpaste. Check out Lorraine McKay: Extra Icing on the cake website. She also has tutorials on You Tube. I believe her channel is Ainse2?
Hope that helps.
