Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I was asked to quote someone on a vanilla cake with dulce de leche filling, covered in fondant with three smurfs and the smurf house - for 30 people.  What would be a fair price.  I was thinking $200 - $250.  Please give me your thoughts.  Thanks.

I actually have it but IHaven't had the time to input all the info in or time to get efficient using it. Thanks so much for helping me.
Iwould be making the decorations out of gumpaste.
I have this cakeboss software too and its really cool cause it will calculate everything for you and you can print invoices and put your recipes in, just make sure to always back up your computer so your data is not lost if you have to restore you computer. happened to me and i have not had the time to reenter everything..

Hi Meera, Yes, it is worth it. No, it's not a scam. LOL.

 

I love everything about it. It practically does everything for you. It generates shopping lists for your orders, you can use the calendar to put your events on, print out invoices. It converts the ingredients (ex: lb to oz, etc) along with the prices for each recipe. So, if you have to change the price of an ingredient, say flour went up from $3.99 to $4.99, you would go to the master ingredient list and change the price. It would then change the price in ALL of your recipes to show the new price. You wouldn't have to worry about updating each recipe.

 

When I say it does everything. It does everything. All you do is enter your information, like recipes, business info, customers, ingredients, and orders. They are also constantly updating and looking for ways to make it better. I would highly recommend it!

Hi Teresita or anyone else...

I'm looking for a dulce de leche filling - can you recommend a receipe? I've never done this before...and should a dam be used when putting the filling in between the tiers?
