My 7 qt Cuisinart just bit the dust.  I was wondering if anyone else has a Cuisinart and how long it has lasted for them?  I loved my Cuisinart, but I cannot see paying the money to buy another if it won't last.  I did drop it a couple of years and I'm not sure if that is why it died.  What mixers do you use?

How long have you had it?  Nothing is made to last anymore, unfortunately.

My Kitchenaid 5 quart Commercial 5 series is 4 years old and doing well.  I bought it at a PX and paid around $250 for it.  My smaller Hamilton Beach 4.5 quart is 7 years old and doing well.  I bought it at Target and paid about $150 for it.

Where do you buy kenwood at?

I have 2 stand mixers.  My husband bought me a Bosh years ago when my children were small, so figured It to be 20yrs. old.  My daughter inherited it, and it is still going strong.  Super powerful.  I only gave it to her for 2 reasons.  Couldn't get parts for it here in Canada anymore, & they were not selling them here either. And my husband gave me a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for christmas 2yrs. ago.

Well lo & behold, Bosch started to sell their machines in Canada again, so just a week ago I gave myself a retirement gift.....the Bosch Universal kitchen machine. Approx $500 with tax.  It is FABULOUS. It has the ability to whisk just one egg white at a time, and make 4 loaves of bread at once.  They also just make a basic mixer, $299.00 here in Canada, but is cheaper in USA.  My ist Bosch is actually from the 1980's, and just as powerful as ever.  Unfortunately, KA is made in China or somewhere there abouts, so not as reliable as USA made.  I believe the Bosch is made in Germany, although they may have a plant in the US.  Anyway, for the money, I think it is a superior machine.  Just my 2 cents.

I'll be borrowing my friend's bosch this weekend to give it a test run, and friend's kitchen aid, next weekend to give it a test run.  I'm surpried noone has mentioned cuisinart.
Well, nothing wrong with cuisinart I am sure.   Haven't used one, and like everything else, it really is personal preference.  Of course, price has a lot to do with it if you are on a budget.  I got a great income tax windfall, or most likely, I wouldn't have bought my bosch.  It also came with a time limited $50 rebate.  That helps!!
