Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Do any of you give private lessons?  If so, how do you price them?  Do you make the cakes for the student or ask them to bring one of their own?  What kind of lessons do you offer?

Thinking of offering this in my community, but don't really want to do a classroom kind of thing.  I'm thinking the basics on pan prep, cake prep, frosting making, how to fill, fondant, etc.  Basically the stuff I'm pretty confident in.

A few of my friends have said they'd like to learn how to make their home cakes "prettier".

Any suggestions appreciated.

Eileen, though I have never taken a class, I know that Wilton requires students to bring their own cake and supplies. You are paying for the instructors time at their classes. This sounds like a great idea.
Yes I do, you can visit my site at www.cakes-divine.com and click on the Classes tab to the left. I actually have 2 ladies coming from Corpus Christi in July for a 2 day private session. 12 hours of instruction. They want course 1 & 2 all in one weekend. Thankfully I live in a tourist town so accommodations are a plenty. :)
