This is a Birthday cake I made my grandson for his birthday .He is a BIG baseball fan.I cut out pictures of all our family to put in the stands to cheer him on.His little sister doing a cheer too!The cake is chocolate with chocolate buttercream(of course, haha)covered in fondant. The 'diamond'is brown sugar with fondant bases. He loved it,seeing his whole ball team on the front.

Ruth, Did you enter your cake on the Cake Decorating Corner website? Just wanted to make sure you knew to do that.
I have a couple sports cakes to do before then so think I will enter them. didn't get an Easter cake done. Sports cakes are FUN! Can you enter more than one or just one per person?
Yes, it's unlimited. Each cake gets its own page on the site.

Oooh yippe....I'm making a soccer themed birthday cake next month. :o)
This is a birthday cake I made for a friend's birthday. He is a big Liverpool FC fan. The cake is red through and through with red velvet sponge cake sandwiched with white chocolate butter-cream. I used two square cake tins which I then split into three strips each. These were then stacked and carved to form the shirt shape. It is secured with dowels. I then covered it with red sugarpaste and used printed icing sheets to add the logos and name detail. The rest of the white details are piped on and the collar shape is formed with sugarpaste. The recipient was well impressed with it.

I consider hunting and fishing a sport. Here are some cakes I did for some hunters and fishmen.

Congratulations, Teresa Scott! Her winning cake can be seen at http://www.cake-decorating-corner.com/tennis-anyone.html

After the voting took place, there was no clear winner. So, I asked an expert to step in. Edna de la Cruz selected Teresa's cake. But, there were so many amazing cakes! Thanks to everyone who participated.
