Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

So I know when it happens, I'm just not sure how to prevent it.

This normally happens on sheet cakes.  I have a hard time leveling the BC on the top.  So when I go back to add to the outside edges and blend it into the other there are always tell tale signs of my efforts.  I end up doing another skim coat of BC to cover it up but it is really aggravating.

I've never experienced this but once I get my bc just about where i think he cake is square I spray a mix of water and clear vanilla and smooth with my spatula. Wiping the spatula after each pass. Hope this helps!!
I crumb coat first, let it set up [even put in fridge] and then ice again.  seems to go pretty well.
