JUST a Suggestion:  You may think about doing a rope on the bottom of each layers with fondant, three small diameter ropes one of each color baby pink, blue and purple.  Place a huge heart in the middle of the top layer of the cake with Happy 16th Birthday "her name".  Along with sides of the cake, you can accent it with smaller heart cut-outs and with the books that have a drawing of a horse (which you will probably have to do by hand with icing).

Have fun and no matter what you end up doing, please post your cake.

What do think of a braided rope with the 3 colors together. I am making White modeling chocolate so I can color it red to make hearts.
