Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hello Cakes We Bake Family ~ I need help please.

I'm looking for a good chocolate cake recipe.  I normally bake cakes from scratch and have tested two recipes so far and did not like them.  The cakes came out too dry and I don't know if it's because of the cocoa I used or what.  I'm not much for chocolate unless it's a good recipe.  I need to make a graduation cake this week-end and am cutting it down to the wire.

I used the WASC chocolate cake recipe.  It has been a big hit ~ you will love it.

Would you share the recipe,  please?

Thanks!

Sure ~ I found it on this site.  Click on "Forums" above then "Recipes" and it will be the second one next to Theresa's picture.  Enjoy and welcome to the site!
For some reason, the page is not showing the recipe when I click on the link.

When you are in the "recipes", just click the first one that says "WASC" and do not scroll down to the one that says "chocolate".
I clicked on the chocolate WASC recipe and it says page unavailable????????????

Here it is - http://www.cakeswebake.com/profiles/blogs/jeris-version-of-triple

Jeri's version of the WASC cake is really good and really moist. I think you can find it int he recipe section.

Hey Sherry,

I tried this receipe over the weekend! Tasted really good.  However I couldn't find Hersey's Cocoa at our local store, so i used Rolo brand instead.  The color of the cake was not a dark chocolate color, but still had this medium color brown.  The only thing that stumped me was that the cake was sticky.  Did you have this problem too?

This is the recipe I use...moist, rich, chocolaty goodness...its also the recipe SeriousCakes uses if I remember correctly.

This is the moistest cake I have ever made. I once had someone cancel her cake order after I had frosted it, and I served it 4 days later to my guests, and it was still the moistest cake ever. I then sent the leftovers to work with my husband the next day, and they said it was the best they had ever had!
Jeri.... I use your recipe all the time and everyone loves it.... I get the most complements when I do that Triple Chocolate cake.  Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

You are welcome Gretchen!  It is one of my most popular cakes for sure.  Am making some samples for brides in a few weeks and going to make an irish creme white chocolate ganache to put with it... hmmmm will let you know how that turns out!!!
That sounds fabulous, Jeri, can't wait to hear how it turns out!
