I tried this recipe I found in an earlier post and my strawberry jello powder did not dissolve. Did I not have the marshmallow hot enough? I did exactly as the recipe said but like it said I had to work quickly as the marshmallow was getting thick. I was hoping it would dissolve as I kneaded it but it did not completely dissolve. Is there something I can do or is it one for the trash? Is has a great flavor and the color is great too I hate to toss it out. I'm thinking it needs the liquid to dissolve though and I was afraid to reheat the fondant in microwave. Any advice? Anyone else have this problem?

I believe someone else I know made it and was not happy with the results. I think it was Gail. I did find some information on line about this. The person has this say about the graininess Step 6. The Jello-MMF ball will be very warm, immediately wrap in saran wrap. and let it rest overnight. I have determined that THIS STEP REMOVES ALL GRAININESS. The heat and moisture at this stage allows the sugar in the jello to melt completely.
Step 7. The following day. The jello-mmf will be very hard. While still wrapped, place the fondant in the microwave, heat for 15-30 seconds, flip over fondant and heat another 15-30 seconds. remove saran wrap, knead once or twice and it is ready to cover you cakes.
Good luck
Sounds exactly right, Goreti. I will not hurt homemade MMF in any way to be reheated in the microwave. I always reheat mine just to make it easier to roll out and it works perfectly.
