Hi Carol!!! Can you get a Fuschia color in Americolor gel paste? I think Fuschia is hot pink.

Thank you Maria, I'll google where I can buy some locally :-)

Don't know if this advice is too late Carol. Try 2 drops purple, 3 drops of pink. Knead, and keep adding the same ratio.,stop when you think your 99% close. Colour will intensify after sitting. Of course, if you can buy fuchsia colour, that would be ideal....
Hope this helps.

Carol, I'm so sorry I haven't seen this earlier, I could probably have helped.  Did you get what you wanted?  Renshaw do a ready to roll sugarpaste in fuschia pink.  It's a gorgeous colour and is the one I used on the board on this cake -

Thanks Maria!  The ruffle piping could have been better.  It was cream cheese frosting and I just couldn't get the consistency right lol!

Thanks ladies, I didn't even think about buying the ready to roll icing,  I used ruby colour which was ok not hot pink as I wanted it but the cake turned out fine and my friend was pleased with it

HI Carol

The cake turned out beautiful.  Satin Ice fondant comes in all kinds of colors and tastes really good too.  Whenever I have specific dark colors I buy the already colored ones.

Thank you, I'll be shopping around for the ready mix fondant next time I need a strong colour x

I think you're in Tyne and Wear Carol, so I don't know about local suppliers, but the Craft Company sell a lot of the coloured ready made icings, which you can order online.  They often have free delivery offers too.  If you don't know them, sign up for their newsletter and you get these offers by email, or like them on Facebook.

I never try to colour fondant in a dark colour - so much easier to buy it ready done, although of course more expensive.
