Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Good day everyone! Have you ever used a Jumbuck Pizza Gas oven? Can it be used for making cakes and cupcakes too? I am just worried of buying because I am going to useit for baking cakes. Is there a difference using a natural oven anda pizza oven when it comes to cake? It is very cheap and on sale for US$98 but I am having a second thought that's why I need your opinions first. Pls. help. Thanks!!!

Well any research I can find on the internet says that this is pretty much a outdoor barbeque. I can only compare it to my gas bbq I have. I could possibly, in a pinch, bake a cake/cupcakes in it. But I would never ever do it on a regular basis. The temperature is too hard to regulate. So I'm not much help to you Maria.

Hi June! What a quick reply. It is a big help June that you replied at once. We are planning to buy it soon. I thought I can use if for baking cakes. I also searched in the internet and it only says about cooking pizza. Thank you so much.

Your welcome
It's a great price, but if you can only use for making pizza....kind of a waste of money. I know one item we bought when we renovated our kitchen 2 yrs ago, was a on the counter mini toaster/oven. I had a really old black & decker toaster oven, and even that crummy little thing would bake a dozen cupcakes. This new one is basically a little mini oven.can be used to bake normal, convection, toast, broil. I use it almost everyday. But really helps in the summer because it is cheaper to operate than a large regular oven, and it doesn't heat up the kitchen. I have baked cakes and cupcakes with no problems and great success. The 2 best on the market are Breville, which I have, and Kitchen Aid. Posted links below. Well worth the money. :o)

Thanks June for all the infos. The Breville smart oven is so expensive here. I need a bigger but commercial oven. The thing is I couldn't afford to buy an expensive one.

Yes, I know Maria. Any large "commercial" appliance is expensive. If you own your own business, in some circumstances, you can write it off as part of your business expense. But still, putting out the $$$$$ is difficult.

Hi June!!!I am still searching for a cheaper oven. I need to get more orders to be able to buy it. Another problem is... my mixer was broken this morning while we are making the cake. It was so stressful!!! Money where are you??? Hu hu hu....

Oh my...... It never rains but it pours. Sorry your having so much trouble.
