Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi I am thinking of buying a sugarcraft gun after spending most of the morning hand rolling ridiculously long, thin sausages again. But was looking for opinions on them as I heard some stories that they are more hassle than they are worth and can be difficult to use, and have heard others that they are used regularly. Am pretty confused and don't want to waste money so any views would be appreciated thanks :))

Hi Vanessa, I had the same concerns with my sugar craft gun, and I started a discussion a while ago. I don't know how to forward the discussion to you but I have a picture of my sugar craft gun on my photos if you want to have a look at it, one of the responses I got was with a link to you tube which I found helpful. At first I had huge problems working mine, I couldn't get the icing to come out, it was hurting my had, but definately the secret is to make sure the icing is very soft and that you use Trex inside the barrel where the icing goes. I also added Trex to the icing itself as well and found this to be much easier. You could also go onto you tube and watch Lindy Smith using this product she makes it look so easy. I would definately say go buy one.. They are very good.

Thanks Lorraine I have actually ordered one and it should be arriving today hopefully, but I will definately have a look now thanks again
