Hey Gail - not a fan myself but..........we currently have a programme running on TV at the moment called The Great British Bake Off.  It is my all time favourite programme, really entertaining.  Anyway, lavender seems to be very much in vogue at the moment and contestants have used it several times in this and previous series.  Check these out, see if you get any inspiration?

thank you Katy , I will ,;x

We had The Great American a Baker here this past spring Katy. I was also glued to the show. Actually the winner of the competition is doing a demo at Canada's Sweets & Baking Show. I'm attending this Friday. Excited. I do believe they also used lavender. I would think Gail, a scant amount of lavender in your icing pared with chocolate would be nice. :o)

JUNE ; )) THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING IN THE ICING ! ?

If I were to use in a cake, it would be a very, very small amount. Lavender is so strong, and not to everyone's liking. In the icing, if you don't like it, you can scrape it off. Not so in the entire cake. I would bake cupcakes and add lavender to the batter just for a taste test. :o)

that's a good idea ! think your right !! I have heard some use it with lemon cakes ??
