Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

GSA got the Buttercream Satin Ice in and I ordered a pail to see what I thougt.... it came today and I opened it up and tasted it... not sure if I like it or not.  Was not blown away by the first bite.  WIll try again... I had just eaten a BBQ Beef Sandwich and that might have had something to do with it.

Anyone else tried it yet?   Just wondering if it was me... or if it really is better than my first bite.

I bought a 10lb pail because I usually use the 20lbs regular Satin Ice fondant and wanted to try this new product......I HATE IT..... it was very sticky, soft and after I rolled it out with my sweet wise mat I did not like how it came out. It was not smooth at all, nothing like their fondant. The cake doesn't look like it is covered with fondant.

I will not buy this again, tried to make decorations with it and that was awful.

Would like to hear from other people who have used it... maybe it's just me....

We use Satin Ice Buttercream Fondant. It is great to work with and the flavor is good. Most of our brides don't mind it at all- even if they start out with "No FONDANT!"

I tried to work with it, it kept sticking to my hands....should I use some powdered sugar to knead it?

I had to look back on the original post here! It was started just over 3 years ago when the buttercream fondant just came out.  I have not purchased it again since the first time.  I am not a fan of it at all.  I still use Satin Ice just not the buttercream version!

Only fondant I use. So far everyone's says it tastes great. Easy to work with and lots of colors. I order from www.Globalsugarart.com very fast delivery.
Opps I have never tried Satin Ice Butter Cream just the reg fondant. Sorry for my mistake in last post.

It is a little sticky, but we knead ours on a stainless table with very little sugar. We run it through our sheeter and have no problems with it. It seems to stay softer longer, which is great when I have to cut and serve the cake!
