I recently did a cake for one of my sister's friends.. Stewie was the cake.. I worked hard on this cake for 3 days.. Making everything fresh.. I delivered the cake to her on Saturday and she loved it.. Yesterday while on Facebook I noticed a video was posted.. I clicked the link to see that it was the cake I had made.. They had taken the cake outside, sit it on a log and began shooting at it with a shotgun.. Yes, a shotgun.. Blowing the entire thing to pieces.. I was very upset.. I paid to make the cake support and requested it be returned.. I worked so hard on this cake.. The problem is, Why would you even post this video online for the "baker" to see? It was more for that reason than the support of the cake.. The girl that requested the cake says, " why are you so upset"? It is just a cake.. Am I wrong for being so upset about the video?

So glad you are feeling better Kelly. Put it behind you as a lesson learned. That still small voice, or gut insticnt, is usualy always right. Now you now to trust that feeling the next time it happens. :o)
i'm sorry to hear about what they did to the cake you worked so hard on, Kelly. Some people are not only ignorant, but arrogant as well.. they definitely don't know the meaning of respect and appreciation. if they wanted to shoot something, they could have just bought a doll or a cardboard replica of stewie. I agree with everyone, just don't make cakes for them anymore.
chin up kelly. there may be a couple of nut jobs out there, but i am sure that there are more people who appreciate and recognize your talent.
hugs. :)
some pep's are just all out crazy , ! why they would do somthing like this is truly crazy on there part , some thing wrong with them , i would not want to even know them ! sorry you had to see that vidio ! but now you know never again , !
Kelly I would def be upset as well, most people have NO CLUE all the time and effort that goes into making a cake...it pisses me off when someone says "it's just cake" NOOOO if it was "just a cake" well then you could've baked yourself "just a cake" you could've went to costco or pathmark and got "just a cake" do you have the link to the video? I would love to see your work before these idiots destroyed it >8{
Tina,
I didn't save the video as I didn't want to be reminded over and over what "stupid" people do.. I did however post a picture of it in my photos before i delivered it.. It was my Stewie cake.. Thanks
ok ! iv been thinking about this ! if it was there plan to kill stewie ! than the got what they paid for ! yes you did an awesome job on him , and i relize it was lots of work ! whats the diffrance in them cutting him up or shotting him ?, or canableizing him , !? so try to think of it that way , and not let yourself get upset , ! if i was at that party , and the cake was made for just that! killing stewie ! i'd have to take a shot at him to , but as far as your work , be proud of it you did an awesome job it looks just like him !
After reading this it really made me pretty upset at how heartless most people are!!! These people are sick in the head!!! I would never do cakes for that person ever again!!! Your cakes only deserve people who will enjoy them and realize how hard you worked on them. I have only done single 3 layer cakes and even that takes a lot of work so I can imagine what tierd cakes with several layers would take!!! Actually, before I started trying to make cakes when ever I went somewhere that had a beautiful cake i really admired it and not to mention how fantastic the cakes taste!! Anyone can look at a tierd cake and see that they are a lot of work!! It does not make sense to me that you would destroy instead of eating a wonderful tasting cake. How terrible it must have been for you. I am very sorry that you had to go through that!!! My heart goes out to you./Mary
A couple of months ago I was asked to make a christening cake for one of my husbands family. I agreed and said that would be my gift for the christening. She then asked me an hour later if I could do a 3 tier..one cake for each of her children.
I paid for the cake myself, including all supports, cake board, icing, decoration, diamonte pins. It had pride of place at the christening and everyone said how nice it looked and I was pleased as punch.
The cake was not cut and they took the cake home. 3 days later I asked what happened to the cake and she said they will be cutting it up the next day and giving it out. 2 days later one of the kids came to my house and said the cake had gone stale and they threw it in the bin.
I spent days on that cake, time, money and effort. My kids dinners were late where I was touching the cake up but I guess people just think they are thrown together in an hour and cost £1 to make.
Some people are idiots... dont let them get to you.
I know just how you feel Louise. I had 2 weddings where neither of the cakes/cupcakes ( 125 ) were ever served.
It is heartbreaking isn't it. In both cases it was my gift. :o(
I've got one for you. I made a doll cake for my son-in-law's little girl who had turned 5 and sent it along with my daughter and her husband as a 'gift' to Karlee, my son-in-law's daughter, as they were headed to his Mom's house to celebrate her birthday. This has been several years back, now. I didn't find out until a couple of years later that not one of my son-in law's family would eat that cake (other than Karlee and my son-in-law) because it wasn't (here's the kicker! Wait for it!)....it wasn't a grocery store bought cake! Now how's THAT one for you! The cake got eaten, all right, by my grandchildren and my daughter too, but not one of Karlee's blood family would touch it. Some people just like that good old grocery store flavor of grease and no real flavoring.
Probably thought you were trying to poison them Linda - their loss my friend.
