My first peonies for a wedding cake

@ Katy - hugs :-)
Perfect sense Mandy, thanks
Mere moments Katy. As the steam hits the flower it almost forms a liquid film - so I held them over on their sticks and twirled them over the steam - I would say 10 seconds per bloom? Really it is quick but the colours were just fabulous - I do have a steamer that somebody gave me but it spits out drops of water so I will see if there is any adjusting I can do to help with that - otherwise a steam iron standing up and then press the button that releases steam? Just try one and give it a go (I build my blooms on to a skewer if I am going to put them in to a cake - and because of the weight of these peonies it was a good idea. That way I also had a good firm grip to hold on as I twirled the flower over the kettle steam - hope that makes sense?)
So that really works then Mandy? How long do you steam them for? I'm terrified to try it!
June, I just held them over the kettle (burnt my finger a bit - but all in the name of making beautiful cakes) :-)
beautiful
