What are you going to do with the warmed fondant Lisa?  You could probably get away with doing it bain marie style.  Put it in a bowl over a pan of simmering water till it comes down to the consistency you want.  If it's for pouring then stir it gently while it's warming.

Thanks katy, im thinking of using it on top of the cupcakes, then placing a mini cupcake on top both with sugarpaste peace lillies like this ?

I hope the above link works, dont know how to do it LOL

Well aren't they delightful?  What a great idea.  Right, this means you don't want pouring style fondant, just soft enough for it to drape over the cupcake it would seem to me.  So you don't really need it that warm - how about placing it near a radiator for a few minutes or in your airing cupboard, or cuddling it lol!  And knead it really really well so it's very pliable.

I thought they were too !

Ive always wondered how, in some pictures ive seen ,it looks like the inside of the cake case ( the icing ) is right up to the egde  and to the shape of the case If that makes sense? Always wondered how thats done !

Ive tried this with just using a circle of fondant and sugarpaste but could never get it to look like that !

What a brilliant idea Katy, radiator! airing cupboard! Cuddling !!!!! lol  ( I just wont tell anyone if i try this one !)

As always thank you for your help

How about cutting a circle of fondant the size of your cupcake and laying it on the cupcake while it is still warm enough to slightly melt it?  It would take a couple of practice runs!  I know this is done on cookies.

Hope this helps!

In the picture Lisa, looks like the on the smaller cupcake poured fondant has been used. On the large one, looks like they have cut a piece of fondant just slightly larger than the cupcake paper, and let it drape over slightly.  If you laid rounds of fondant on your small cupcakes, right to the edge of the paper, placed cupcakes on a cookie sheet, put them under your oven broiler, for literally 1-2 seconds, and pop out quickly, the fondant should be just slightly warm enough to "seal" the edge of the cupcake to the paper. You could push the fondant with a greased spoon or finger.  :o)

Oh bonza idea Lynnette!

Another splendid idea!  Yes, June, I thought the smaller one might be poured fondant, but I didn't want to complicate matters by adding another dimension lol!

Poured fondant can be a pain in the rear.  Saw that under the broiler tip somewhere on one of the bezillion cake realted areas I was purusing..... hee hee    :o)

Yes Katy ,
