Hi kelly ann, I made the book of life cake with a 9x13 pan and carved it on the edge to make the shape of the book. then in the middle i carved a small line of the cake out. them covered it with fondant and with buttercream icing I wrote the wrote the words.  If you want a bigger book you can use a 11 x 14 pan.
