Think you for the nice comment-each tier was 8" which was a 4"cake and a 3.5" cake dummy(1/2"allowance for draping thickness). This kept the weight under control and since the cake had to be transported 8 hours I did not want each tier to be too heavy, even though I could have doweled them. Even with the dummies the cake was well over 125 lbs. Mercy... I just made an extra sheet cake in the event we ran out-and they devoured everything!
