Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I have a recipe for whipped cream frosting that I've been using for a couple of months, however the frosting never comes out as stiff as I would like. I always get requests for whipped cream frosting, which makes it hard to use when it starts to soften soon after it is made. Any ideas?

if you add  melted mm to your wipecream it stays nice for a few days and thicker

 add 1  melted mm per pint !

use heavy cream not whipping cream and a 1 melted mm per pint

Thanks for the tip, I haven't heard of this before. I will try next time I make whipped cream icing.:)

Please tell us how this works out.  I've never heard of this either.  Is "mm" marshmallow?  I went to find Sara Moulton in google but I'm not able to find this particular tip or recipe on her site.  So please do tell us your experience. I would love to know because I like icings that are not as sweet too.

I use heavy cream and keep it refrigerated and the cake goes back into the frig.  Not my favorite way of decorating cake but I like it for cheesecakes, naturally cheesecakes are refrigerated, that is why.

My favorite icing for decorating is buttercream icing and creamcheese frosting is just great for other things that I enjoy for cakes - I've never colored or made decorating items with creamcheese frosting other than borders.

I EMAILED HER AND ASKED , YES MARSHMELLO'S SHE WAS ON RACHEL RAYS WHEN SHE DID THIS, IT HOLDS UP IN THE REFRIG AND WONT MELT ON YOU ,

sara moulton, is her name ! melted mm's into heavy,holds up your whipcream frosting , for a few days inthe frig , and when its out for a few hr's ,
