We are doing some research to offer you really high quality baking pans at half the cost of retail. What are the qualities and types of pans you would be interested in?

Just trying to get some feedback on Fat Daddio's baking pans. Are they as good as they are marketed?
I have a wide variety of pans and my favorite are the Magic Line Pans. Especially the squares. The corners on them are so sharp and crisp I LOVE my magic line pans...
I also have Fat Daddios... they are good quality and once you get used to them they do bake nicely. The first few times I baked in them I was ready to trash them. You have to lower your oven temp with Fat Daddios. They do not have the same crisp corners that Magic Line has.

And I have a bunch of Wilton Pans that I have had for 30 years... I hardly ever use them. They are just not the same quality that the others are. I have given a few away... one more thing for the yard sale!

I also have some from the Decorette Shop in Portland Oregon and their stamp is on the pans so I asume someone made them for them. They too are excellent pans.

If you get a deal let us know... I need to get some extra smaller sizes.
Fat Daddio's is what I have used and do all my cooking at lower temps. I have never had a sticking problem as long as I cook them long enough. They release very well with bakers secret.
Just used new square Fat Daddio pans and while the cakes baked just fine, it didn't end up mattering how the corners came out because I still had to trim the sides of the cake off to make them straight.

Thanks guys for the valuable feedback. I will look up magic line and try to get both...have to be sure of what i'm buying....the only tins i find in Jamaica are Wilton's (super expensive) and the local ones (not that great). I will try to get both online...they are so much more affordable than the WILTON's here...cake decoarting stuff in general are really pricey here...

Thanks again,

Teneisha
Teneisha... my daughter & her husband honeymooned in Jamaica and LOVED it! They want to go back again.

I do not know if they ship world wide but you might check out Global Sugar Arts or The Ultimate Baker. Both are sources that I have used for pans.
Awesome Jeri....you should visit next time...:)

I have a Miami address...so the goods are shipped there and then shipped from there to me...I will check both sites...

Thanks a mil!!!!

I would love to visit! It sounded wonderful from the kids! However... my husband will not fly anywhere.. Our son got married in Washington DC last year (we live in Oregon) and it was all I could do to get him on that plane trip... and boats never.... he is just a big baby!

Gosh, I didn't even see this discussion! I wrote on chat but now I'm here.
I am looking for a personal size version of the mini cakes - all 800 of them (PAN) that was posted. I think it might be called cylinder cake pan? Individual?
I did find these and would really like to know if I am on the right track and what your opinion is, please. I'm a hobbyist having fun only.

I am not too familiar with silicone, I don't know enough about this type of bakeware.

Now that I placed my request for anyone to help me, I will read all of these postings.
Thanks In Advance!

Sher... I do not think the popover pans will work. You can get the individual pans that are 2" pans but my guess is for the quantity that she did she used pans like the Alan Silverwood pans.... GSA carries them.

You might check them out. I was thinking about them but have not had an order for them yet and hate to invest in something that expensive if I never use them.
Love the mini cakes but they are a PITA to ice! I guess once you got going on them it would be easier as you go. They are incredibly time consuming... way more than a big cake. I have played with baking in the 2" and 3" round pans and I just am not a fan of the time it takes.
You are just so sweet to help me and give me your opinion! I really appreciate it a lot. Especially since I'm a hobbyist with this. Holly cow! The cost is not what I expected ouch$$$.
Again, thank you for helping me!!! Perhaps I should play with normal size cakes first, so I keep on doing it.
Cupcakes will work for now too.
Thanks so much!
Here is a link to the "Tall Cupcakes" http://sugarbloomcupcakes.blogspot.com/2009/05/tall-cupcakes-tutori... They are so pretty and you just bake regular cupcakes for them... cheaper pan!!!
