Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I have to say the name is quite fitting.

I purchased the Ooh La La Onlay Ribbon and the Moroccan Lattice Onlay.  Yesterday I tried out the Ooh La La and it was a breeze!  Absolutely the easiest mold I have EVER used.  The fondant didn't stick at all and it was super easy to transfer onto the cake, buttercream by the way.  There's something about the mold being stretchy that makes it release so easily.

I'll be purchasing more as needed.  Well, maybe more often then needed.

I've had my eye on them but I'm really trying to be a good girl.  Way too much money already invested on cake things especially since this is just a hobby.  Hubby is adamant that he does not want me to sell cakes.  I've had some inquiries but have to say no.  He doesn't mind when I do it for family as a gift.

Just checked these out online Deah - they look fabulous, lucky girl.  The price, compared to the sort of prices we would have to pay here, are a snip!

I love all MM's stuff, but like Goreti, I already have WAY too much cake stuff. Can't write it off. And I don't sell my cakes.

I don't know if you do this June but every once in awhile I go to their site to admire them.  Then it's a struggle of do I or don't I.  Some of them look so awesome.  Of course, it doesn't help when you see cakes made using them.  They always looks so beautiful.

Well
We have a sponsor at our cake club meeting & she sells all MM's stuff. As a matter of fact, I saw there new border moulds exclusively at our meeting before they were released to the public. We got to look at them, use them..... etc. isn't that a kick in the pants. If we attend a meeting, she gives us members 20% off our order. It is SOooooo hard to go on her website, Icing Inspirations, look, drool, and NOT buy. You know 2 mnths ago she had lustre dust on sale, I didn't bother as had no family cakes coming up. Now of course, I have Sam's bebe shower cake & could have used several new ones!!! Her shop/website is the exclusive seller of a clay/paper based medium to make flowers. It is the most Amazing stuff you can imagine. It Never dries out, it bounces even..... but it's pricy. It actually comes from Hawaii, and the inventor has come here & taught classes. Also $$$$. Still thinking of treating myself to this stuff @ 20%??? I wish I had remembered she was in Hawaii, I definitely would have looked to see if I could have bought some of the product there when were there...... :o(

Sounds like you have the hook up, June!  I think I'd be broke if I was allowed to play with toys before purchasing.  I'm always looking for time savers.  When I first started and had so much to buy I would look for the most inexpensive way to do things but now I've realized my time is worth more so I "invest" in affordable time savers.

Deah - you are SO right.  I did the same - tried to make do with a cheap alternative and just ended up frustrated and disappointed.  Way better to get quality stuff and less of it.

Yup. Agreed. Sometimes depending on what your trying to achieve..... It's worth it to invest..... :o)
