I'm aware of copyrights and all that.  I can't see very close to see how this was put on the top of the cake.  I don't want to pipe it, I'm looking for another alternative that looks a bit neater.

a frozen buttercream transfer would work good, as long as you can get a straight on(closer) shot of the picture needed
If you have never done one, they are very easy, atleast I think so. you take what ever picture your gonna use, tape it to a piece of cardboard, cover the picture with saran wrap & then color the design. start with all your outlining first, then freeze for about 5-10 mins to firm up then fill in all the rest of the areas. you just have to becarefull to remember about the layering affect, like for instance you might want to do the white sqigglies & KU first then cover with the black. When i get done doing one I gently tap in on the center of the design on the corner of the table to make sure there are not any tiny air pockets, then I freeze it. I've never frozen one over 6 hours, dont think it would hurt it much to let it freeze over night though. if you are using a deep freeze it takes longer to freeze than a side by side or freezer on top. SeriousCakes has a utube video on a FBCT (frozen buttercream transfer) I learned mine off "YummyArts.com" Just make sure to use saran(plastic) wrap. the transfer comes off so much eaiser than it does on wax paper, I did use wax paper for my first couple of FBCT & didnt like how difficult is was to get off, saran wrap just peels right off. hope this helped
Getting a head on picture isn't a problem, there are several out there. I'll look into this! Thank!
Anyone else have any suggestions?
What about a icing image/edible image? If you can get a better picture of the image take it to your nearest grocery store and see if they will make an image for you. My local grocer does it for me often and its cheaper than going to a cake supply/bakery to have it made. HTH!
another great idea, thanks! it's supposed to be a groom's cake so it's important it looks great!
more on the edible image, couldn't I put the edible image on a piece of fondant, then cut the fondant out and lay it on top?? might stand out a little more on fondant vs. chocolate iced cake??
You sure could. Just use a little icing or piping gel to adhere the image to the fondant and cut away! Keep us posted and best wishes.
