Thanks for that. There are bakeries in Kenya, they are just not that skilled in cake decorating. They do basic frosting and basic designs. The things I have seen done by you and the others on this forum are not done here. And you are right.... it is a gold mine. I will definitely take your advice. I plan on ordering wilton books at the end of this month with my pay check :-) but till then I will start working on taste! different cake recipes.
Monica, this is very inspiring, I like the fact that you learnt all by yourself, it means I have a chance to get good! Just yesterday, my family (mum and sisters) discouraged me from the whole idea of a bakery. In Kenya, people value employment more than the arts. Which is really hard, because I hate my job at the moment. I love baking and I would really like to take it to the next level. I looked at yummy arts and I will try and join as soon as I can. I first want to buy the Wilton course books and the equipment. But will definitely put it on my budget. Thanks for your help, you are so kind.
Thanks Monica. for the help. Am actually not in the United States, but I will check it up online and here. I live in Kenya, East Africa :-)
I really admire you! how long have you been doing cake decorating? I am just beginning, I want to see if I can become good enough to open it up as a business. Right now there are no elaborate cake decorators in my country.
This is definitely very helpful. Thank you for taking time to write to me. Now.... I hope I can find tylose here. I have never heard of it.... does it have a substitute - just in case? You also helped me understand what Pastillege is, I came across it yesterday and couldn't figure it out. Its like you knew! :-)
Have you tried any of the Wilton books? I was doing a search and there are so many books out there I was wondering which one do you like best? Oh your cakes are just amazing love them! Thank you for everything
Thank you so much Monica!! I have a few minutes today to myself and I am going to do just that. You have some pretty amazing beautiful cakes I just love them!
