Does anyone have any personal experience with the Cricut Cake Machine, I am thinking about purchasing one.

I've ordered stuff from this company a few times they seem reliable and have great deals often on the cartridges too, I've gotten many of mine for less than $20 each.

I am planning to  wait until the Circuit gets really, really cheap.  When new technology of any kind comes out, it is always expensive AND there are always "bugs" to be worked out.  Eventually like everything, the price will come down.  It will be one of those items you buy that is very useful, but you store it away because you don't use it everyday.  Like a pasta machine.

Ok, well that link below is my entire cake gallery, of course you're welcome to look through it, there are several cakes I used the cricut cake to help. The Purple Happy Ann, i did the lettering, obviously, but also the swag looking border too.

Well, I guess I'm the odd one out. I LOVE my cricut cake! I also have the smaller personal cricut (the paper one) and they are actually quite different. They both take a little getting used to. But there are some things I've done with my CCake that I would've never attempted otherwise. Here's a good example:

(hopefully that'll take you to my 'laundry cake'.

Yes, you can buy cookie/fondant cutters for different shapes or letters, but then you're either stuck with one size or have to buy dozens of cutters to accommodate any size project.

The prices have gone down considerably on the CC, and I got mine new on eBay for half price. Do I use it for every cake? No, but can't wait for a reason to pull it out!

Just my 2 cents. =)

I got one after watching several videos and commercials for it. I don't use it much, but I like what you can do with it. I was at a cake show the other day and saw the Siloutte in action and actually think it is a better deal. My friend bought it on the spot. You hook it up to your computer and the machine is just a cutter. The lady was rolling out her gum paste on a piece of card stock and then laying it on the cutting mat and that was saving her cutting mat, which was really smart I thought. They also had it hooked up to a printer with edible ink and they printed off licensed characters and cut them out and applied them to cakes. That was really neat.

Anyway, on the cricut, there are plusses and minuses, but you have to be prepared to let it sit for a while, because you won't use it as much as you think. I usually get my cutters out and just manually do it. I don't like the frosting sheets either, so don't even bother buying the circut brand ones. They are horrible.

I also bought one and am very unhappy with it. Good for lettering, but that's about it. I ended up buying the expression mat and blade since they will fit so that I can at least use the machine for scrap booking. The best I can say about it is that my granddaughter likes using it for her little cake projects. In my opinion? Don't waste your money.
