Can you all tell me how you figure out your prices for your cakes, i want to make some sort of a price chart and then charge for additional work thats more detailed, im still a bit new to designing cakes but im confident in my work and know its better than the grocery stores, also what are some ways you have found to advertise your businesses any help would be great thanks in advance! :)

I work in a school and get tons of requests from co-workers. Putting a flyer in their boxes is the best but not all schools allow businesses to advertise. If you allow one business you have to allow all businesses and it becomes a bit crazy I never advertise because most everyone aldready knows me so it is not a big deal. Good Luck!

I made up flyers with all that I make with prices in it. I also printed up some business cards on my computer. I always send little goodies for special occasions to my grandaughters teachers. I have gotten some business that way. But always put a flyer in with the treats...................

I just did a spread of desserts for a Scholarship Presenter reception at a local high school, and I took in some of my cards. The lady who worked for the school passed out the cards for me, and there were none left (and no cake for that matter!). Every time someone asked her who made the cakes, she gave them a card and told them about me. I've found that, for my business, word of mouth has helped advertise more than all of the fliers, cards, websites, etc....
