As requested by Faith Gealey-Brown & Stacey Leroy-Dyson

I am not a professional,  & this is the way I have found to be easiest for me.
(besides using pre-mixed when I'm on time constraints)

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Bake Time: 35-42 minutes

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare in greased 8x8x2-inch pan (I used the perfect brownie pan)

Crumb Recipe:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds

-Mix sugar,flour in large bowl.
-Mix in butter and almonds, mix with fork until mix becomes crumbly.
-Spoon about 1 1/2 cup of crumbs lightly packed into pan
-Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until edges start to brown

         *Prepare filling while crust bakes*

Filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen raspberry
  • 2 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar

-Mix all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil on medium-low heat (to control consistency)

Final Touches:

-Add filling to hot crust
-Sprinkle rest of crumb mix over entire pan
-Put pan back in oven for about 25-27 minutes (when edges are bubbling, bars are done!)

*OPTIONAL*

  • Sprinkle a little powdered sugar or almond slices once cooled
