We are so glad to finally hear that you are okay, Iris. We sure do take things for granted, don't we? Going through something like that really opens your eyes (meaning all of us) to just how much we really have and to not take it so lightly or for granted that it will always be there. I'm just glad to see your 'shoe' avatar back up and 'dancing'!

Thank you so much Goreti.i still haven't seen my friends. They told me the boats are in the street ,she is very sad ,but very positive. She told me it's another opportunity to start over.Thank you so much for your prayers.

So glad to hear from you and to know that you are okay.  Sorry to hear that you had damage and for your friend too.  I cannot imagine losing everything.  Even though we know that it is only material things and that they still have their lives, it must be very traumatic and overwhelming.  My heart goes out to her.  Let me tell you I was very glad my daughter was no longer living in Brooklyn.

I cannot even imagine losing everything. But they didn't lose their lives.... You can rebuild a house, but you cannot bring back a life lost.

Thank you so much Katy. I'm the godmother for my friends daughter.  They lost everything ,but the most important is that they are all okay and it was very scary.

So glad to hear from you Iris!  I'm so sorry to hear you have had some damage and to be without power, I just can't imagine how difficult that must be.  But you are OK, which is the main thing.  My heart goes out to your friend - how terrible she must be feeling.  Pathetic words for such a disaster I know, but we can do no more than sympathise.

There a lot of members here Iris that are praying for those who were hit. Still so much damage. Most important is to get power restored so they can have heat.

Thank you so much for being a good friend. we didn't get too much damages at the house just some part in the roof was damaged. I have a friend who lives in Long Beach n she lost everything. Because we didn't have power so no heat, no food and you can't find gas nowhere and that is driving people crazy. Thank you for caring

So gald to hear you and your family are alright Iris. Several of us were just asking about you this morning.  How bad is it in the surronding areas, like Long Island etc.?  I saw on CBS this morning that parts of Queens is still looking like a war zone.  How much damage did your house sustain?
