Hello everyone! My name is Kai and I am from Medford, Wisconsin. I just started making cakes about 1 1/2 years ago, I really enjoy making MMF cakes. ;o) I am self taught so I look forward to learning tips and skills from all of you!!! you all are so talented. I feel a bit intimitdated lol. I have A LOT to learn so please share any advice you would have when it comes to MMF and butter-cream cakes?? :0) Happy baking!

Thanks for the warm welcome Tiffany :o) I do have a question for you......did you ever have issues with bulging around the middle of cakes? I swear I have tried everything to prevent this and I am still having problems, eek! I always use a damn to try to keep the fillings in and I have tried letting my cakes settle over night before applying fondant, but I am still running into this issue. I am so confused. BTW, your cakes are amazing!!! Your work with hand painting and flowers is beautiful!! Thanks for your help. Ttys
I'm sure you will love this site. I just joined a few weeks ago and the people on here are so nice and helpful! I too use only homemade MM fondant. just love the taste! I am also self-taught but have been doing it for about 2 years, if you have any questions, ask and i may be able to help out.
One major tip I can give now is the website where I buy a lot of my tools and supplies, Jester's cake supply. it is based out of florida but they do very quick shipping and very low cost items. check them out some time, their cake drums are very cheap!
