Ingredients

1 Pkg chocolate cake mix with pudding ( I used Duncan Hines chocolate with instant chocolate pudding mix)

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp cocoa

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup water (I used milk)

1/2 cup Kahlua or Tia Maria

3 eggs (I used 4 eggs because of the choc pudding)

1/4 cup bourbon

3/4 cup coffee, extra strong

Frosting:-

1/2 cup butter or margarine

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup evaporated milk

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Combine cake mix, sugar & cocoa. Combine oil, water, Kahlua, bourbon and coffee. Beat liquid and eggs into dry mix. Pour and bake for 50 min.

Frosting - Heat Butter, sugar and milk stirring constantly.  Boil for 2 min, remove from heat and quickly stir in chocolate chips and pour over cake.  This may be made in microwave.

JRivero, I have only used the frosting as per the recipe and butter cream.  This is a very moist n soft cake so I am not too sure about fondant. Earlier I used to be worried about taking it out of the pan so I used to bake it in either in a foil pan or a stoneware baking dish and just frost it.

can you fondant this cake or is too soft to do so?

Well, I think you and I are the same age, aren't we June? Born 1949, or maybe you are just a smidge younger?

We have the occasional glass of wine as well. We made zinfandel a few years ago to give as gifts. But with the few bottles leftover, it took us forever to use it all up. Can't drink red, gives me migraines.

35 years this Oct. :o)

I have an occasional glass of wine with my husband, and we didn't start that until after he had open heart surgery and his Dr. recommended it for a healthy heart. So, we have one glass of red wine about twice a week. I'm not a big beer fan either. I can't believe that we have been married for 40 years now!! That really dates me, doesn't it??

I have been married for almost 32 years and I have a bottle of whiskey still closed that was given to us when we first married.  Does that give you an idea how much we drink?  lol  I will have a glass of wine at dinner and now I will drink on very hot days a bud platinum (at least that is what I think it is called).  I don't like the taste of beer but this one has a very mild flavor that I don't mind it.
