We have a LOT of amazing contest entries this month. I am checking the site every hour for new entries.
Please don't be insulted if you find your cake isn't featured. It's easy to miss one when they are being added so quickly. If your cake is not featured, please let me know. I don't want to leave anyone out.
I've used Crisco for my butter cream frosting and pretty soon it was tasting pretty disgusting to me, basically sweetened Crisco and I think it leaves an slick in my mouth and a greasy after taste. I switched to the Walmart grocery store brand because someone suggested since it has a slightly higher fat content it tastes better. I can't tell a difference. I have now read online that baker's use Sweetex. Has anyone used it? Is it worth using over a brand from the grocery store since you have to… Continue
I retired in May. I retired young but sitting in a chair all day was beginning to kill me. So my husband and I decided to have me not work and adopt a healthier lifestyle. I took a cake decorating class in July and now I am totally addicted to decorating cakes and looking at decorated cakes and getting tips on decorating. I have to be careful not to spend too much time at my computer or retiring early won't have been worth the effort. I also have to stay away from actually eating the cakes I… Continue

Wow, I just noticed I haven't blogged in a while. The last specialty cake I made was for my hubby's family reunion and that was at the end of June. The picture is posted in my cake album.
I've been thinking hard on my son's 1st birthday celebaration. His Godmother wanted to dress him up as Woody from Toy Story so the party theme will be of course Toy Story. I've decided to make a cupcake tower and a main cake. The problem is that I can't make up my mind for the cake.…
Right now, the site is experiencing some glitches due to an upgrade that took place earlier today. The Chocolate Contest entries are not visible right now. We're working to get this restored as soon as possible.
You can still enter the contest, but we won't be able to feature any more cakes until this is fixed.
Thanks for your patience!

I wanted to share my cake that won the Central Florida Cake competition and invite everyone to join competitions. Plus I am inviting everyone to participate in my cake contest "Summer Sensations"
If you would like to help select the winner of the Sports Cake Contest on my other site, Cake-Decorating-Corner.com, go here to see the contest entries. Click on the cake page you want to vote for and use the rating stars to rate the cake.
Everything used in the baking and sugar craft industry has to be food grade,so whether it is cake tins cutters, colors, packaging, foil, tools, everything including any kind of decoration has to be food grade, yet I have a few baking tins that will leave a black residue on the cakes if I don't line my tins,I've been told that this happens when food grade metal is not being used.I have imported very expensive blossom plunger cutters that I don't use…Continue
Hi Everyone, just wanted to give you a reminder that there is only one photo allowed per entry, you can submit as many entries as you want but please only one photo of each labeled Chocolate Contest. Multiple photos means we have to decide
which photo to feature and that may not be the photo you want.
I was 'elected' to make the cake for our annual street party this year! I had seen some of the BBQ cakes on this site and wanted to try it myself (thanks to all whose ideas I used!!!) Then I had the idea of making it a 'Coleman Stove" since I live on Coleman St! I also wanted to try my sister-in-laws recipe for a lemon poke cake (my fav!) Overall, it didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would and it turned out exactly as I had pictured! The Poke Cake was amazing! So moist and lemony… Continue
