I believe mine is more self-inflicted. I never seen my 'works' as being anywhere near those I admired...it took me a while but, I figure I'll let those whose works I admire do what they do best and I'll do what I do best when it comes to those works...be the admirer.
...I still doodle and try...until it becomes pleasing to me, the trash can will be the ultimate collector of my painting attempts. :-)
Drawing can be learned but yes some find they have a natural ability for it and others will draw technically corecctly but without flair.
I am forever meeting (teaching) people to draw who were told they could't draw to save their lives! usually at school at an early age this thoughtless comment can destroy the will to continue drawing it's a great pity.
I'm off my soap box now ..........interesting subject.
I'll take your word for it. (I say it's like singing, either it's inside you to sound like an angel or Elmer Fudd...I'd rather sing like a angel (instead, I sound like Elmer Fudd). Like I told my mother, I could copy her work but I couldn't put the 'feeling' into it. Even as speedy as Bob Ross was with his paintings, the 'feeling' (for lack of a better word) was in them.)
Thanks, anybody can learn to draw! I know this may sound flippant but it's a technique just like learning to decorate cakes, it takes time and paitience so you know what I mean.
Hi Myla and thanks for your comment, it is in fact a cake topper made from paper,it's an original watercolour painting .
if you would like to see more of my toppers please visit my website www.lebigkiss.com I have made toppers that wrap around a 4 inch top tiers very effective and I think you will agree a bit different.
