I made this cake for my Dads 69th Birthday this past July 4, 2012. The cake is a WASC cake with a strawberry filling, iced with buttercream and covered in fondant. The pinstripes were made with a clay extruder. The penant is made of gumpaste and written on in royal icing. The ball and the hat are rice krispie covered in fondant. The ball seams were made with red royal, the ball was then patina'd with ivory food coloring. The hat brim is gumpaste, the hat is fondant. I used a stitching tool to create the stitch effects.
