I made this cake for my German born husband for his birthday. The stein is several stacked 4" red velvet cakes with plenty of card board support between and about 4 skewers pounded through to keep it from toppling. The stein cake was first covered in icing then fondant all around it.The lid and handle were made from gum paste as were the plate, the pretzel, the pickle, and the brat and bread. The mustard was royal icing. All are sitting on a square cake that is covered in checker board fondant.

Thanks guys...it was a labor of love for my hubby. He is so proud of his German roots and gets homesick every once in awhile.

I seriously did not expect this....thank you everyone, but in all honesty, I thought there were better cakes than mine and they were far more deserving.
