Rima, I think the trick was found unintentionally. I used 3 piping bags with this cake (white, light blue and dark blue). When I got ready to do the border I took the tips off the 3 bags, stuck them in a 4th bag and squeezed in the buttercream. Then, while I was piping I made sure the bag stayed in the same position the whole time. (I tend to twist my bag as I go along.) Hope that makes sense to you.
awww, it's cute. Are the waves a stripped bag? It's so even in color! very nice.
