Thank you so much Mandy. such praise, I can't take all the credit for the design as it was the brides design, the groom had given her a puzzle necklace for their engagement and she wanted the design based on the puzzle piece.
I make my own sugarpaste and this is what the puzzle pieces were made from. it dries very hard. I didn't have a cutter I made a template and cut around. (I hasten to add I looked at rather alot of puzzle pieces!!!!!) There is a skewer running through the Mr puzzel piece. Hope this helps. ann x
This is what I call serendipity! This morning I tuned in to this most wonderful site and saw a comment from one of my mates about your olive tree, so I naturally came looking you up (hence all my comments) and here I find this lovely lovely wedding cake! My nephew is getting married this weekend and I am doing the cake and the cake is being decorated with autumn leaves and they also want me to incorporate a puzzle piece topper and I have not liked anything that I have seen thus far (the black and white is too obvious) - and voila! Here I stumbled across your lovely pic - thank you you clever lady - I shall certainly be keeping an eye on your work in future :-) ps how did you suspend the topper, it looks like its floating on air? And is it made from sugarpaste? Very nicely done - all credit to you!
