Wow that IS alot of work... Maybe you can just start with smaller wedding cakes Nd work up? I know exactly how you feel. I have a tendency to jump in and over do everything. The first
Time I worked with fondant for example, I made it from scratch and did a cartoon character cake that involved carving a bit, multiple colours and using all different tools id never used before.... Really should have started with a simple, 8" round hahaha.

Kudos to you for taking it on! Don't give up on wedding cakes, just maybe try a simpler one?

Penny it took a couple of weeks.  This being my first wedding cake, maybe my last, and not being an easy design 2 friends helped me out.  One helped with the locks, handles and clasps.  the other helped with the top layer and all of the luggage labels along with the fondant and most importantly delivering the cake.  It takes a village to build a cake, at least in my world.  thank God for friends.
