The butterflies were actually bought into the shop. They are made of plastic.

I do believe this is my most favorite out of all the cakes I have EVER seen! Exquisite work! btw, what are the butterflies made out of?

Stunning cake I agree with every one. I wonder if they still sell SHRINKY DINKS. I artistic person could draw up a bunch of designs and SHRINKY DINK them to fit any design and do a cake much like this one.

Yes Deana, Crumb coat first, refrigerate then re-ice. Let sit for 5-10 minutes at room temperature until crusted then the viva paper towel method.

The butterflies were brought in by the client. They are plastic believe it or not and we fell in love with the transparency. Whew...if we had to make these by hand it would have driven the price of the cake through the roof.

THIS is absolutely a fabulous cake!! love the butterflies and the transition into a diff color. WELL DONE!!!
