Well..for a rush job..it looks great. I'm sure there going to be touched by your thoughtfulness, effort and how pretty it is. Bring them a smile in an otherwise difficult time. Sure there not well enough to go out and celebrate, so they'll appreciate the rememberance.

No I didn't.  I usually don't but I can usually get it pretty smooth just takes awhile and I really wasn't in the mood for it.  This really was a last minute thing.  I had to refrigerate the slurry & put cake in the freezer in order to get everything cool so I could put it together because I won't have time today.

Looks pretty smooth to me! Do you add a cup of icing sugar and meringue powder? I found if I didn't do that..it was too soft to pipe, crust or smooth..

Thanks June.  I should have worked a little more on smoothing it out but yesterday everything went wrong.  By the time, I got around to the cake I was already tired & cranky.  Just wanted to get it over with.  This was the cooked frosting which I find it a little challenging to smooth anyway.  Just didn't have the patience.  Still not in love with wafer paper.  Have a hard time getting the petals to stick.  I've tried piping gel & water.  Prefer working with gumpaste but have to admit this is sooooo much faster.
