A quick cake I put together for my brother-in-law & his wife's anniversary.

Nor should you! Nobody does it better :o)
Funny thing is that I had no idea about making this cake when I was playing around with the flowers but it actually looks good together. I do have to say that wafer paper is growing on me. It was so quick to put together but I will not be abandoning my first love.....gumpaste flowers.
I picked up on your design inspiration right away, Goreti, and you expanded it perfectly. The whole thing, top to bottom, is perfectly coordinated and gorgeous. The paper flowers really work well in this design.
Thanks Bonnie. No tip used. Just put buttercream in a bag and snip off the end. The design was based on the scrapbook paper that I used to cover the board.
It is cute the way you carried the colors from the top. down the sides. And yes, buttercream can be a b____, but we all love to eat it! lol You said you did not use a tip???
Oh I know that conspiracy feeling! Happens to me a lot. I am reminded of something my Dad once said. 'The trouble is, people think I am hanging up behind the door, waiting for someone to need me'
Thank you Betty.
Thanks Katy. Didn't even use a tip. The plan was to measure everything out so it was all even. The reality was I just winged it & hoped for the best. I swear there is a conspiracy every time I work with buttercream. Something always happens that I end up with very little time to do what I want. I'm still happy with it and I'm sure they will be too. Especially since it is not expected.
Lovely cake Goreti. I like what you did on the sides too. I like the flowers too.
so beautiful Goreti. I love the effect on the side decorations - looks a bit like knitted or tapestry. And, as always with you, very neat.
